Launch of "AYCHYTAS" Students Share Design Insights

Last year, we arranged students from Higher Diploma in Illustration of HKDI to create a boardgame titled "AYCHYTAS" for the Baptist Oi Kwan Social Service (BOKSS). After months of collaborative refinement with teachers and social workers, the game has finally launched.

"AYCHYTAS " features a black-and-white design and is a cooperative game that presents various scenarios faced by teenagers experiencing emotional distress. Players must work together and employ various strategies to overcome challenges and reach their destination.

In mid-June, BOKSS held an exhibition and sharing session for "AYCHYTAS " at Breakthrough Book Gallery, inviting HKDI student NG Shuen-ching and CEU representative to share the project development process and concepts. Social worker Frankie YEUNG shared real-life case stories, helping participants understand teenagers.

NG Shuen-ching remarked, "During our research, we learned that hidden or emotionally troubled youth often feel isolated and helpless, much like drifting alone in space. This inspired the concept of 'AYCHYTAS,' hoping to walk alongside them through this game."

The game is about to complete mass production and will be used in BOKSS's frontline services to help low-motivation and hidden youth reintegrate into the community.
